Meet Mark and Marc: A More Personal Approach to Better Water

Mark Coppola and Marc Gabriel opened Carolina Water Pros to help families and businesses understand their water and find treatment that fits their needs.

Carolina Water Pros was opened by Mark Coppola and Marc Gabriel, bringing their experience in environmental services, radon work, and water treatment together. They started the company to give homeowners and businesses across North Carolina and South Carolina clear answers about their water and practical treatment options.

Water concerns can look different from one property to another. A homeowner may notice chlorine taste or odor, staining, sediment, or scale. A private well owner may have different questions than a family on municipal water. That is why we begin by listening, reviewing the available information, and explaining the results in straightforward language.

Our promise: clear explanations, recommendations connected to your water concerns, and professional installation—with no pressure to buy equipment you do not need.

Experience grounded in environmental work

Mark’s background includes radon mitigation and environmental projects, supporting South Carolina Department of Public Health initiatives, contributing to Brownfields redevelopment projects, and working with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. That broader environmental perspective informs how our team approaches water questions: understand the conditions first, then discuss suitable next steps.

Mark Coppola

Mark is a co-owner of Carolina Water Pros. His background includes radon mitigation and environmental projects, along with work supporting public health initiatives and Brownfields redevelopment. He brings an education-focused approach to water testing, system recommendations, and customer support.

Marc Gabriel

Marc owns Carolina Radon Pros and brings hands-on experience from the radon and environmental services field. He and Mark opened Carolina Water Pros together, combining their experience to help customers find clear, practical solutions for their water.

A water-treatment process you can understand

We explain what each option is designed to address and where its limits are. For example, a carbon tank is commonly selected to reduce chlorine taste and odor, while a softener targets hardness minerals that contribute to scale. Reverse osmosis is often used at a dedicated drinking-water tap. The right choice depends on the water results, household priorities, and system design.

  • We listen Tell us what you notice and what you would like your water to do better.
  • We test and explain We review available results in plain language and discuss when further testing may help.
  • We design around your water We recommend equipment based on the water conditions and your goals.
  • We install and support Our team installs the selected system and can help with maintenance and service.

Whether you are looking for whole-home water filtration, a water softener, reverse osmosis, or help understanding a water test, Carolina Water Pros is here to make the process clearer—from the first conversation through installation and ongoing care.

The Carolina Water Pros Difference

Water Treatment Should Start With Understanding Your Water

Mark and Marc built Carolina Water Pros around a straightforward idea: listen to the customer, explain the water, and recommend a solution that fits the home—not a one-size-fits-all package.

Recommendations Based on Your Water

City water and private well water can have different characteristics, and neighboring homes may have different concerns.

We use your goals and available test results to guide the conversation about treatment. A carbon tank, softener, or reverse osmosis system each serves a different purpose, so the recommendation should match the water and the problem you want to address.

Clear Answers Without the Jargon

We explain what your results mean and what a proposed system is designed to address.

You should understand what treatment can and cannot do before deciding what to install. We walk through your questions in plain language and discuss when additional testing may be useful.

Professional Installation and Ongoing Help

We install whole-home filtration, water softeners, and reverse osmosis systems suited to the project.

After installation, our team can help with maintenance and service. We want you to know how your system works and what care it may need over time.

Serving North Carolina and South Carolina

If you have a question about taste, odor, staining, hardness, sediment, or well water, Mark and Marc can help you understand possible next steps and which type of water test may be useful.

WHY WE ARE TRUSTED

Our Expertise Makes The Difference

At Carolina Water Pros, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all water treatment. Every system we install is custom-sized and designed around the home’s water-test results, plumbing, flow rate, and household usage. An undersized system can cause low water pressure, hardness breakthrough, staining, unpleasant odors, and inconsistent water quality—especially when multiple showers, appliances, and fixtures are used at once. It may also regenerate too frequently, wasting water and salt while shortening the equipment’s lifespan.

Choosing the correct treatment media is just as important. The wrong media may fail to properly remove hardness, iron, sulfur odors, sediment, or other contaminants and could contribute to scale buildup, corrosion, clogged plumbing, stained fixtures and laundry, and premature appliance damage. While some competitors simply sell standard equipment, we provide a complete treatment solution engineered specifically for the customer’s water—delivering consistent performance, better protection, greater efficiency, and lasting value.

Common questions

What does a whole-home water filtration system do?

A whole-home system treats water as it enters the home, so treated water can flow to multiple fixtures. The exact results depend on the treatment media, system design, and the water being treated. A water test helps determine which concerns a system should address.

How do I know which water treatment system I need?

Start with the issue you want to solve and the water source for your home. Taste or odor, hardness, staining, sediment, and well-water concerns may call for different approaches. Testing and a review of your goals can help narrow down the options.

What is the difference between filtration and water softening?

Filtration uses specific media to reduce selected substances, such as chlorine taste or odor, depending on system design. Water softening targets hardness minerals, mainly calcium and magnesium, which can contribute to scale. A softener and a filter do different jobs.

Can a carbon filter help with chlorine taste and odor?

Activated carbon is commonly used to reduce chlorine taste and odor. Performance depends on the carbon type, amount of media, water flow, contact time, and whether the water contains chlorine or chloramine. System selection should match the water conditions and the manufacturer’s stated capabilities.

Does one filtration system remove every contaminant?

No single system should be assumed to remove everything. Different treatment methods target different substances, and results depend on the specific equipment and its verified performance. If you have a specific health-related concern, use appropriate laboratory testing and choose treatment designed for that contaminant.

How often does a water filtration system need service?

Service intervals vary by equipment, water quality, household use, and the manufacturer’s instructions. Cartridge filters may need regular replacement, while backwashing media tanks typically need periodic inspection and eventual media service. Follow the maintenance schedule for your specific system.

Will a whole-home system treat water at every faucet?

A properly installed whole-home system treats water on the plumbing line it serves before it reaches connected fixtures. A point-of-use system, such as an under-sink reverse osmosis unit, treats water at a particular tap. The right setup depends on whether you want treatment throughout the home, at a drinking-water tap, or both.

Should I install a water treatment system myself or hire a professional?

Professional installation can help ensure that equipment is sized and connected appropriately, with attention to plumbing layout, flow, drainage, and system setup. Ask what installation includes and what ongoing maintenance the equipment will require.
